Here in this passage Jesus officially sends out His disciples. For months the disciples have literally followed Jesus, learned from Jesus, watched Jesus do miracles and bring His kingdom in powerful way- and now Jesus is sending them out to do the work as well. From watching and helping to now going out and doing the very things Jesus had been doing. Jesus sends them in His authority.
